Introduction
Malta Yacht Surveys is an independent marine surveying business operating throughout Europe. We deliver a wide range of services such as pre-purchase condition and insurance surveys, damage assessment, Non-Destructive Testing, refit consultation and Regulatory Surveys.
As Appointed Tonnage Surveyors for Malta, UK, Eire and the Red Ensign group Registers of Shipping we can assist with registration under the British, Maltese and Irish Flags.
Our services are often requested overseas and recent instructions have taken us to Sicily, Sardinia, mainland Italy, Croatia, France, Spain and the UK.
We have detailed knowledge and experience of many types of vessel, from commercial fishing vessels and speed boats to luxury yachts and superyachts. We use state of the art equipment such as moisture meters for GRP and wooden hulls, ultrasound thickness gauges for steel or aluminium structures and infra-red cameras for machinery and leak testing. After the survey inspection a detailed written report is produced for the client giving a comprehensive account of any defects, along with suggested measures for rectification.
Professional Institution memberships include the YDSA, MECAL and the IIMS. We operate under the Code of Practice for Surveyors. We carry full Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance for the protection of our clients and undertake regular Continuous Professional Development.
