Our Principal Surveyor, John Ross, has over 20 years experience working on vessels of many types and sizes. He carries full Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance, underwritten by Lloyds of London.
He is an Engineering graduate with five years experience as a Deck Officer in the Royal Naval Reserve and fourteen years as a professional yacht Captain and Engineer (motor and sailing vessels up to 47 metres/155 feet/4000 SHP, worldwide).
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (University of Aberdeen)
- MECAL Independent Grade A2 Examiner for the MCA Small Commercial Vessel Code of Practice
- Diploma in Practical Yacht and Small Craft Surveying (with Distinction), YDSA Endorsed (IBTC, Lowestoft)
- Full Member of the International Institute of Marine Surveyors (IIMS)
- Accredited Member of the Yacht Designer's and Surveyor's Association (YDSA).
- Member of British Marine Surveyors, Europe (BMSE)
- Member of the Royal Naval Sailing Association and the Royal Malta Yacht Club.
